Gloria Estefan reveals she recently contracted and beat COVID-19… after she was exposed to an unmasked fan at an outdoor restaurant in Miami

Gloria Estefan revealed in a new video that she contracted COVID-19 while adding how she might have been exposed to the highly contagious virus.

Despite rigorously following public health protocols and ‘always’ wearing a facial covering in public, the 63-year-old singer said she was ‘tapped’ on the shoulder by an unmasked fan at a Miami-area restaurant on October 30.

‘One day I went out and met with one person who was not wearing a mask. I even held my breath through their talk, but something must have happened there,’ she said, noting the man or woman came ‘very close’ to her as she dined without PPE.

As she fought her case of coronavirus, she isolated on the second floor of her home for two weeks and drank Gatorade Zero to help with dehydration.

‘Fear was my biggest problem,’ Estefan said. ‘We’ve got to grab fear and shake it and just do whatever you can to keep your immune system as healthy as you can.’

As for her followers in Florida, the Cuban-American musical icon urged them to be wary of the ‘very big spike in Miami.’

‘It’s tough here now,’ she warned. ‘Please everybody wear your masks, try to stay six feet away and protect yourselves.’

Now that she has recovered and tested negative twice, she explained her reason for waiting to reveal her diagnosis was to prevent fans from stressing about her health.

‘The reason I didn’t share, while I was going through it, is I didn’t want you guys worrying about me needlessly or to mess up your Thanksgiving,’ she explained.
