Jordan North’s ex housemate Hattie Pearson claims he ‘KILLED her gerbil’

I’m A Celeb star Jordan North’s former housemate jokingly claims the radio host ‘KILLED her pet gerbil Jemima while she went on holiday’

Jordan North‘s friend and former housemate Hattie Pearson has joked that he ‘killed’ her pet gerbil when the pair used to live together.

The Hits Radio presenter has thrown her support behind the radio host, 30, since he entered Gwrych Castle for this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

But Hattie has jokingly revealed to her fans that her ex-housemate ‘killed’ her gerbil Jemima after she left her beloved pet in his care while she went away on holiday.

Pet disaster: Jordan North’s former housemate Hattie Pearson has light-heartedly claimed that he ‘killed’ her pet gerbil when the close friends used to live together

The DJ took to Twitter earlier this week to quip that she ‘came home to a dead pet’ after Jordan ‘promised’ her he would ‘look after’ the rodent.

She went on to tease that she had ‘no sympathy’ for her pal as he faced his fear of snakes during Monday’s Viper Vault bushtucker trial, as it ‘served him right’ for ‘killing’ her fluffy pet.

She hilariously penned: ‘To be honest I have NO sympathy for @jordannorth1

‘Serves him right for killing my gerbil Jemima when we lived together. I went on holiday, he promised me he’d “look after” her and I came home to a dead pet #ImACeleb’ (sic)

But despite the unfortunate fate of her pet gerbil, the radio star added that the BBC Radio DJ is still ‘one of her dearest pals’ and the ‘best housemate’ she has ever had.

Before his entrance to the I’m A Celeb camp, she wrote on Twitter: ‘Can’t wait for you all to get to know @jordannorth1 one of my dearest pals

‘He might have killed my gerbil and left his beard shavings on the bathroom floor but he was the best housemate I ever had and you’re gona love him as much as I do’ (sic)

Jordan’s representatives declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.

Hattie has been avidly tracking her friend’s progress during his stint on I’m A Celebrity and has littered her Twitter feed with messages of support for the star.

Jordan has quickly become a fan favourite after arriving at the derelict castle in North Wales and was crowned as the camp leader during Sunday’s episode.

His other eleven campmates cheered him on as it was revealed that the public had voted for him to be the very first leader, who would take charge of running the camp.

His promotion has earned him the exciting privilege of sitting in a large throne as well as dishing out the daily chores to his fellow contestants.

Speaking in the Telegraph after the announcement, Jordan said: ‘I’ve got to remember the public have voted for me.

‘They either thought this will be a laugh, he can’t even tie his shoelaces or they thought let’s see how he is in charge. Or maybe the Great British public has faith in me and think I can do it.’

Despite being completely baffled by the big news, Jordan seized the role with pride and chose Victoria Derbyshire to be his deputy and right-hand woman.

He explained: ‘Victoria is very decisive, got a good head on her shoulders and she’s intelligent, exactly what is needed as a deputy.’

And the BBC presenter previously triumphed over his fear of snakes during Monday’s episode, when he took part in the first voted challenge, Viper Vault, alongside Shane Richie.

He is among twelve celebrities who have joined the first ever UK series of I’m A Celebrity this year, after coronavirus saw the show relocate to Wales from Australia.

The 2020 series, which kicked off with a bang on ITV last Sunday evening, is expected to last just 20 days – two shorter than normal.
