‘I have had to lie before’: Greg James admits he is NOT a fan of some of Little Mix’s music but had to pretend to like it while on air

Greg James has admitted he is not a fan of some of Little Mix‘s music and had to lie to their faces when playing it on air.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ, 34, told how he was not fond of the group’s song Touch, the follow up single to their hit Shout Out To My Ex.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, the presenter hinted that he would have even banned the single from 2016 if he had his way.

He said: ‘It’s a tricky balance. If somebody brings out a record you don’t like, you are not going to say, “We are not going to play that. Come back again in a bit”.

‘I have had to lie to Little Mix before when I have not liked their follow-up to Shout Out To My Ex. We have all been there.’

While Greg may not have been a fan, Touch was well received by the former X Factor winners’ fans and reached the top 5 in the charts.

Little Mix have had four number one singles on the UK chart since they found fame on the ITV reality series in 2011.

They have released five studio albums and are currently working on their sixth which fans hope will be released later this year.

It comes after Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson finally went public with her romance with Sean Sagar earlier this week when they were spotted holding hands in Brighton, despite repeatedly insisting they were ‘just friends.’

The new couple’s appearance came just weeks after Jesy ‘adamantly denied’ a romance with the hunky television star.

Jesy’s representative told MailOnline: ‘Jesy has adamantly denied that she is dating Sean Sagar, and states that they are just friends.’

The pair were spotted enjoying their first holiday together in Cornwall earlier this month, doing little to quash rumours as they put on a ‘tactile’ display.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘They seemed really relaxed and happy in each other’s company and were laughing together. He was very tactile and protective of her.’

Sean is known to many for his role as Private Jaiden ‘Monk’ Montgomery in the BBC series Our Girl opposite Michelle Keegan and also appeared in the Guy Ritchie film The Gentlemen earlier this year.

Meanwhile, her ex boyfriend Chris Hughes recently put on a cosy display with model Lottie Moss during their trip to Mykonos.
