The Walking Dead Season 11 adds Margot Bingham likely as the mysterious character Stephanie

When The Walking Dead returns with Season 11, fans will see a new face… with a very familiar voice.

Margot Bingham has signed on to star in the new season, and while the character she’s playing has not been confirmed, Deadline suggests she’s likely appearing on screen as Stephanie.

Bingham, 31, had voiced the mysterious Stephanie, who communicates with Eugene (Josh McDermitt) via radio in two Season 10 episodes, Morning Star and Bonds.

Bingham first voiced Stephanie in the Season 9 finale episode, The Storm, heard calling out for help but she is heard by no one.

Stephanie returned in the sixth episode of Season 10, Bonds, heard using a radio from her community to find other survivors, when she starts talking to Eugene.

Stephanie didn’t reveal much about her in their first conversation, though she did reveal she comes from a town called Strasburg, Pennsylvania.

While Stephanie is reticent to reveal more about herself, Eugene tells her his full name because he trusts her, and though they agree to continue to keep talking, Stephanie makes him promise to keep their conversations a secret.

Stephanie returns in the 11th episode of Season 10, Morning Star, when they start discussing how many comets they’ve seen and ultimately realize that they’re closer to each other than they originally thought.

Eugene reveals his group is in Virginia, and says he wants to meet up with her in person, with Stephanie saying she will run it by her people but wants Eugene to keep it a secret.

While Stephanie gets spooked when Rosita (Christian Serratos) answers her call, Eugene calms her down by singing the Iron Maiden song When The Wild Wind Blows.

Eugene again suggests they meet, when Stephanie suddenly reveals she’s in Charleston, West Virginia as they set up a time and place to meet before the season comes to a close.

The actual Season 10 finale of The Walking Dead was not able to make it to air due to COVID-19 restrictions, though post-production was ultimately finished and the episode will now air in the fourth quarter of 2020.
