Celebrity Apprentice: The Veronicas take aim at Lord Alan Sugar

Celebrity Apprentice stars The Veronicas’ take aim at Lord Alan Sugar after complaining about their edit on the Nine reality show

Celebrity Apprentice stars Lisa and Jessica Origliasso have taken aim at Lord Alan Sugar, saying they prefer billionaires to be ‘humble’.

The 36-year-old twins, who perform in pop duo Veronicas, took a shot at the British businessman during an interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday.

‘He’s reputation proceeds him. He didn’t bother learning anyone’s names, he didn’t care, he is what he is,’ one of the Origliasso sisters said.

The twins went on to say that Lord Sugar ‘isn’t our cup of tea’, adding that it’s basic respect to learn people’s names.

‘We think if you’re in that privileged position… learning people’s names might be [a good start. We like humble billionaires, like Kyle,’ they added.

This was in reference to radio host Kyle Sandilands, who was interviewing them. While Kyle is very wealthy, he’s not a billionaire.

The twins said they wanted to see more heart on the show, but did acknowledge some of the celebrities were just there to advance their careers.

It comes after the songbird sisters lashed out at Nine and the producers of Celebrity Apprentice on Wednesday in a furious Twitter rant.

Lisa and Jess said Nine was only showing the ‘drama’ and not focusing on their achievements or efforts to raise money for their chosen charity.

‘Why are you not airing any of our wins and strategy for each task, only using the scripted drama you GAVE us as the only airtime / promo?’ Jess and Lisa tweeted from their joint account, which has more than 132,000 followers.

‘Where’s all the footage where we pull through for our team/and for our charity? Why is all of that being edited out?’ they added.

Nine declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail Australia; however, the network confirmed The Veronicas will get more airtime in future episodes.

Musician Kira Puru tweeted in the sisters’ defence: ‘Give our girls the bad edit and we are gonna be out for blood.’

But others questioned the duo’s expectations when they signed up for a reality show.

‘TBH this was to be expected, it’s reality TV after all,’ one Twitter user remarked. ‘Are you guys surprised? All TV shows are like this,’ another added.

During Sunday’s season premiere of Celebrity Apprentice, tensions ran high as Jess and Lisa had a sisterly spat during a piece to camera.

Jess was discussing professional surfer and Instagram star Alex Hayes, explaining he had chosen to invite a friend over to help him during an art challenge.

Lisa whispered to Jess, suggesting she re-word her statement that Alex was ‘just doing his own thing’.
