Jeannie Mai and rapper Jeezy ‘apply for a marriage license’

Jeannie Mai and rapper Jeezy ‘apply for a marriage license’… nearly one year after announcing engagement

Jeezy said goodbye to his mother last month during a masked up funeral.

But now, the rapper has something to celebrate again, as he looks to be moving ahead with his plans to wed fiancée Jeannie Mai.

As TMZ reports, the rapper, 43, applied for a marriage license with The Real host, 42, on Monday.

The pair, who announced their engagement in April of last year, applied for the marriage documents at the Fulton County Court Clerk in Atlanta, Georgia.

And since marriage licenses in GA are valid for six months maximum, this could mean the Standing Ovation star and Dancing With the Stars contestant are planning their nuptials to take place very soon.

The couple have been dating since November of 2018, but they only confirmed their relationship in the middle of the following year.

The potential wedding news comes after Jeezy, born Jay Wayne Jenkins, lost his mother Sandra Rose last month.

Rose succumbed to an undisclosed health battle, with her famous hip hop star son sharing masked-up funeral photos on Instagram followed by a video of her singing.

The performer penned a heartfelt caption as he signed off, ‘FORVER MY MOMMA’S BABY.

‘You taught me to be a man when I was a boy,’ he also wrote. ‘Made me man up be a father when I was a kid. Raised me to be a natural born leader when I was lost. You lifted me when I was down. Inspired me when I had no inspiration.’

The rapper re-kindled his relationship with his mom in adulthood, after he previously admitted to Rolling Stone in 2011 that he left home at 11-years-old and began dealing crack among other drugs.

In a 2019 interview with Hot New Hip Hop he had shared that she was having health problems.

Jeezy’s mother’s death came months after his beloved wife-to-be Jeannie also suffered severe health problems.

Mai had to leave Dancing With the Stars last fall amid a medical crisis that led her to undergo emergency surgery on her throat.

Jeannie, who was hospitalized with a condition called epiglottitis, was on hand for the season 29 finale in November, with Tyra Banks pointing her out in the studio audience.
