Jason Statham gives a glimpse of his MI6 agent character in new poster

He is set to take on a leading role in the upcoming American-British spy thriller Wrath of Man.

And Jason Statham gave fans a glimpse of his character in the newly-released poster for the film on Thursday.

The actor, 53, looked serious as he posed for the shot in a smart three-piece suit which was teamed with a white shirt and navy tie. 

However he will clearly run into a bit of trouble in the film as Jason’s character sported cuts and bruises on his hands and face in the eerie shot.

Jason will play an MI6 agent simply named ‘H’ in the film alongside Aubrey Plaza, 36, who will portray a CIA high-tech expert, according to Deadline. 

A global intelligence alliance pair the duo together to prevent the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that could disrupt the world order and the film follows their globe-trotting mission.  

His co-stars in the forthcoming movie include Stranger Things star Cary Elwes and the English rapper Bugzy Malone.

It is the fifth movie that Guy and Jason have done together going back to Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels which made them both stars in 1998.

The movie is a project for Miramax, 51% of which is held by the Doha-based company beIN Media Group. 

Ritchie, 52, will direct and produce the thriller formerly known as Five Eyes from a screenplay by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies. 

Back in January, Aubrey joked to the WSJ Magazine that she was ‘going to destroy’ Jason in their next project together.  

‘I cannot wait to shoot this movie. I hope that it will allow me to be a bada** CIA agent with the ultimate bada**. 

‘There’s no one more bada** than Statham – and I’m coming for Statham. He better watch out. Because I’m going to destroy him, and he’s going to like it.’ 

Plaza is best known for her starring role as April Ludgate on the sitcom Parks and Recreation that aired from 2009 to 2015 on NBC.  

The film was set for release on January 15 2021, but was postponed due to the pandemic and later rescheduled for April 23 2021. It was then pushed back again by two weeks to May 7.
