Ulrika Jonsson plans to dance around the house with happiness when her children return to school

Ulrika Jonsson has revealed that she’s overjoyed her children are returning to school and leaving her alone.

The mother of four, 53, said she plans to dance around the house and potentially even day drink once her kids have left.

‘It will feel like nothing short of utter liberation and exaltation – and a lessening of a huge burden,’ she wrote in her column for The Sun.

Speaking of homeschooling Ulrika said: ‘Some parents rose to the challenge considerably better than others… I wasn’t one of them.

‘Tomorrow when my alarm goes off at 6am, I will only have to suffer my kids for an hour and a half before I can shove them forcibly out of the house.’

The TV presenter is mum to Malcolm, 12, Martha, 16, who live with her at home in Oxfordshire.

She also has two grown up children who’ve flown the nest: Bo, 21, and Cameron, 26.

The mother of four said she plans to dance around the house, use dating apps, listen to rave music and contemplate day drinking once she’s finally alone.

The columnist added she loved her children, which is why she didn’t feel any guilt with confessing she wanted them out of the house for a while.

She explained it wasn’t good for them either to be cooped up away from their friends and the playground.

The presenter noted that constantly tidying up after her kids throughout the day had made her irritable and frustrated.

It comes after Ulrika defended herself against the use of the derogatory term ‘4×4 mum’ in January.

The phrase had been used to describe her due to the fact that each of her children have different fathers.

Ulrika recalled how hurt she felt when, 12 years ago, she watched an episode of Loose Women where one of the panellists, who she did not name, said: ‘It must be like Euston Station at her house with all the kids coming and going.’

Ulrika had her son Cameron, 26, with her first husband John Turnball followed by daughter Bo, 21, with her ex Markus Kempen.

She welcomed daughter Martha, 16, with ex-husband Lance Gerrard-Wright and had her fourth child, Malcolm, 12, with Brian Monet.

Recalling other hurtful comments from the past, Ulrika told how Jack Whitehall made a ‘4×4’ jibe at her after she won Celebrity Big Brother in 2009.

Ulrika said she realised at the time the term would be her ‘mantle’ and felt it was ‘bleak’ to think her career achievements had amounted to that.

The broadcaster added that the term ‘4×4’ is used to imply a woman is promiscuous but Ulrika insisted all of her children were planned and deeply wanted.
