‘Been the craziest, most exhausting and rewarding week of my life!! I’ve learnt parenting is hard.

‘I’ve also learnt there is no right or wrong way, too much advice can actually hinder you, you just have to do what’s right by your baby and as long as he’s safe, warm and fed you’re doing a pretty good job. Love him so much!!’

Jake and Sophie, 27, confirmed the news of Leo’s birth last Friday, sharing adorable photos of their son to Instagram.

‘I already know you’re an amazing mum and cannot wait to raise this beautiful little baby with you!! I also have such a mixture of feelings, I’m so so happy but also feel a little sadness my dad and brother are not around to meet my baby!!

‘I promise to be a great dad, I will make mistakes but promise I won’t make the same one twice, I will learn on the job like most parents and will do everything in my best interest for you.

‘I feel truly blessed that you are ours. And thanks @jakequickenden14 for being by my side, you were all the support I could have wanted & more.’

Jake previously detailed his horrendous experience with trolls, who accused him of ‘attention-seeking’ for doing skin-to-skin contact with his son.

The star spoke of his upset after being criticised for the action despite being instructed to do by midwives at the hospital.

Appearing on Lorraine on Wednesday, he said: ‘I was trolled for taking my top off in the hospital but the midwife told me to do it, skin to skin, I’m a new dad I don’t know what I’m doing.’

Admitting he is trying to ignore the negative comments, he added: ‘We give trolls too much of a spotlight, why would they hate on a new born baby.

‘I’m trying not to let it tarnish the moment, I haven’t stopped smiling, my face is killing me.

‘I feel like there should be something to stop these people but there isn’t… to wish death on an unborn baby.’

Sophie, who had joined Jake for the interview alongside her son Freddie, said: ‘I don’t want the boys to grow up in a world where trolling is okay.’

Jake also discussed abuse he has received for giving Leo the middle name of his late brother Oliver, which the X Factor star said was the ‘natural thing to do’.

He said: ‘Oliver [late brother] was my best mate and I’ll always go on about him, the more I talk about him the memory goes on. These trolls thought it was me trying to get attention.’
