Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? viewers are left shocked after contestant leaves with just £1,000 – but how well would YOU fare on the questions?

  • Bhupinder Kaler, from Greenwich in London, lost £7,000 on the ITV game show
  • She failed to correctly answer the question despite having two lifelines left
  • The solicitor took a risky guess instead of phoning a friend with her lifelines

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? viewers have been left baffled after a contestant walked away with just £1,000 as she largely ignored her lifeline options.

Bhupinder Kaler, from Greenwich in London, lost £7,000 on the ITV show during Sunday night’s episode after failing to correctly answer the question: ‘The term Luddite originally applied to disgruntled workers in which industry?’

The solicitor was given the options of farming, mining, textile or ceramics and took a risky guess instead of phoning a friend with her two available lifelines.

Bhupinder incorrectly said the answer to the question, worth £16,000, was mining and walked away with just £1,000 thanks to her first safety net. The correct answer was textile.

The contestant, who decided not to use her second safety net after securing £8,000, admitted she regretted not using her lifelines.
