Katharine McPhee covers her baby bump in red for Valentine’s Day outing with husband David Foster

Katharine McPhee is preparing to welcome her first child, after announcing her pregnancy with husband David Foster.

But the American Idol season five runner-up is enjoying some quality romantic time ahead of her due date.

She covered her baby bump in a flowy red mid-length skirt Sunday, as she grabbed lunch during a Valentine’s Day outing with the father of her unborn child in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old complemented the skirt with a black sweatshirt and a pair of sparkling silver Chuck Taylor All Stars.

She finished the ensemble with a black face mask, some black cat-eye sunglasses and a red leather handbag on a gold crossbody chain. 

McPhee wished her husband, 71, a happy Valentine’s Day on Instagram, sharing a throwback of herself in a red bikini, as he kissed her neck.

She wrote: ‘My forever Valentine!! My best friend, my favorite person, my motivator, my everyday! @davidfoster I looove you cookie. #happyvalentinesday’

McPhee officially confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram in December with a mirror selfie of her baby bump wrapped in a baby blue overcoat, which she wore off one shoulder. 

She appeared to hint that she’s having a boy, not only with the color of the coat, but with a blue butterfly emoji framed by two blue heart emojis in the caption. 

The House Bunny actress first hinted at her pregnancy in October, taking to her Instagram Story with a gift from Italian aperitif brand Aperol.

She said in the unboxing video: ‘I won’t be drinking this for a while. Wink, wink. But I’m so excited.’

It came just days after a source told People that she and Foster were expecting their first child together.

Another insider told Us Weekly in August, that the couple was ‘definitely trying’ for a baby, and his daughters ‘fully expect [McPhee] to have a child and fully support it.’  

Foster has five daughters from previous relationships, including Allison, 50, Amy, 47, Sara, 40, Erin, 38, and Jordan, 34. 

He and the mom-to-be later made a virtual appearance at the GO Campaign’s GO Gala in October, raising money for orphans and vulnerable children.

The music executive said: ‘We’re so happy and proud and honored to be a part of the GO Campaign. Anything to do with children has got my attention immediately, as well as my wife’s.’

McPhee can next be seen starring the upcoming Netflix series Country Comfort, in which she plays an aspiring country singer who takes a nanny job for the five children a handsome cowboy (Eddie Cibrian), premiering March 19.
