Laila Rouass has claimed her fiancé Ronnie O’Sullivan has adopted a healthier lifestyle thanks to her.

Reflecting on their home life, Laila claimed that her long-term partner is ‘so boring these days’, as he prefers to drink green tea and going to bed early to partying.

Speaking to the publication about intuitive eating, Laila said: ‘Essentially, it’s the opposite of a traditional diet. It doesn’t impose guidelines about what to avoid and what or when to eat. 

‘It’s listening to your body and eating food that makes your body feel good. So Ronnie’s started realising, like me, that this stuff actually works.’

She added that it is ‘small practices’ that have helped her and Ronnie adopt a healthier lifestyle, saying that the professional snooker player has sworn off fast food as he realises it’s going to make him feel bad. 

Of her partner, Laila added: ‘He’s so boring these days. He likes watching TV, going out for dinner.  All those rock and roll days are well and truly over.’

She also claimed that before the coronavirus pandemic hit she would often find herself asking him to go out with her, but he’d much rather enjoy a night in.

In June last year, Laila took to Twitter after Hollyoaks producers Lime Pictures issued a statement in response to the racism claims, accusing them of sexism, bullying and turning a blind eye to cast members who have complained.

Lime’s statement asserted that they will be ‘working with unconscious bias trainers’ going forward, with Laila posting: ‘To those “at the top” – I spoke to @Hollyoaks when I was there about comments made to me… you did nothing. Absolutely nothing!’

She went on: ‘The fact is… you made me fear for my job so much so that I begged my agent to find me something else. You called me stupid, silly and so much more. 

‘My agent found me something else, I left and you made me pay 10’s of thousands of pounds to get out of my contract a couple of months early despite my experiences there.

‘When I told you I didn’t want to feature in you annual calendar where we instructed to wear almost nothing, you booked my flight to Spain anyway. Your reasoning… “we don’t have anyone that looks like you on the show”. The pressure you put on me made me feel helpless and stuck.

‘I got on that plane, I took the photos, I felt dirty and weak afterwards but luckily I got another job, paid my way out of the contract (which I’ve never heard of any actor doing) And I wasn’t featured in the calendar. It was the best money I spent.

‘So now you’re going to do something about it. I can’t tell you how happy I am to hear that. But the truth be told… where were you when I reached out? I can’t begin to imagine what other stories may surface but that was my experience. I managed 8 months and it was enough.

‘On the bright side, I was inspired by the very young cast… I was inspired by their professionalism and their zest. Their kindness and the way they welcomed me has stayed with me since. #dobetter’

Last year, actress Rachel Adedeji slammed the show’s response to the Black Lives Matter movement. 

The star, 29, who played Lisa Loveday on the Channel 4 soap, took to her Twitter to say she didn’t agree with Hollyoaks’ recent post addressing the movement. 

Rachel said their response wasn’t progressive before revealing she was aware of racial slurs and injustices happening on set.
