Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe reflects on being ‘madly in love’ with ex-fiancé Shawn Booth: ‘I would have done anything’ to make it work
Kaitlyn Bristowe said she ‘would have done anything to try to stay’ with her ex-fiance Shawn Booth, who called it quits in November 2018 after three years of dating.
On Wednesday’s episode of the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast, the 35-year-old Bachelorette star reflected on being ‘madly in love’ with the personal trainer, 33.
After she was asked if her and Booth felt an added responsibility to stay together to please fans of ABC’s long-running dating show, she revealed her old flame did.

‘I think he felt that way,’ she told the host. ‘I don’t feel like I did because, I mean, there is definitely a lot of pressure on us, but I was madly in love with him. I thought that was my person and I would have done anything to try to stay with him.’
She admitted that people ‘always chiming in’ and talking about their relationship, as if they knew them or their struggles, was stressful and hard to navigate.
‘I found that hard to keep up with because people did not know we were struggling on the other side. They thought we were this perfect happy couple and that was the part I felt was challenging,’ the latest winner of Dancing With the Stars confessed.

‘I sound like I am bashing him, which I might be, [but] I think he was kind of like, ‘Everyone thinks we are perfect, let’s try and make it work.’ I was like, ‘Everyone thinks we’re perfect and I do want to try to make it work,’ she said in a gut wrenching statement.
Kaitlyn has since moved on with her new boyfriend Jason Tartick, who she began dating in January 2019, just two months after her and Booth parted ways.

Jason became a fan favorite in Bachelor Nation as a contestant on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette.
The duo share a home together in Nashville, Tennessee with their two pups – golden retrievers named Ramen and Pinot from rescue group Bunnys Buddies.
In September, she admitted to having ‘baby fever’ after being partnered with DWTS pro Artem Chigvintsev, who had just welcomed a newborn with fiancée Nikki Bella.
‘Let’s just win this mirrorball so I can go have babies,’ she joked to Us Weekly.
