Tory MP David Warburton took to Twitter today to show off his incredible eight-stone weight loss in dramatic before and after photos, as he claimed his secret to success is gin.

The 55-year-old member for Somerton and Frome said he shed two stone before March last year, and has lost another six since lockdown started.   

Mr Warburton wowed followers on social media with before and after photos.

But the more recent snap shows the trimmed down MP oozing confidence as he poses with his hand on his hip in an open collared shirt and jeans.

The MP tweeted: ‘Not really into selfie posting, but today a bit chuffed to hit six stone weight loss since March plus two stone before that.

‘Eight stone gone.

‘Fat mass’ <18% and “muscle mass” >78%.

‘No dieting – lots of treadmill and weights.. and, er, gin.

‘Who knew it would be fun..!?’

Mr Warburton has clearly taken the PM’s advice for Brits to lose weight to help ease the burden on the NHS to heart.

Boris Johnson was hospitalised with Covid-19 in April and later said he was ‘too fat’ which made him suffer worse with the virus, encouraging Brits to slim down.
