He survived a terrifying car malfunction that left him fearing for his life last week.
And now Daily Mail Australia can reveal that Seb Guilhaus, 31, was driving back to Adelaide after ‘already ending his romance’ with Elizabeth Sobinoff when his car burst into flames.
‘Seb and Liz decided to end things after ringing in New Year together,’ a source said.

‘In fact, Seb was on his way back to Adelaide for good when his car blew up.’
It’s understood that Elizabeth, 29, has also relocated from her Sydney’s Western Suburbs rental and moved back into her parent’s home in Newcastle.
‘It’s been a pretty terrible start to the year that’s for sure,’ Seb said when approached for comment on Friday.

In a statement this week. Seb and Lizzie said they’d ‘mutually decided to end’ their relationship and asked for fans to be kind and respectful as they move forward.
Earlier this month, Seb left fans horrified when he uploaded several Instagram photos showing the charred remains of his burnt-out Ford Falco.
‘So I had a fairly traumatic experience… I was driving 95km/hr and suddenly spouts of smoke entered the cabin just behind my drivers seat,’ he said at the time.

‘I quickly pulled over and jumped out… two seconds later the inside of the car began to set alight… I had just filled the car with fuel and had watched too many movies, so assumed I was about to be blown to pieces,’ he continued.
Unfortunately, at the time Seb’s car was filled with thousands of dollars worth of equipment and belongings.
‘After about a minute and in a panic I realised that some precious things were in the car… I sprinted, assuming the car was about to blow, grabbed my camera, my phone and bag with ID and odd bits and bobs, leaving the rest,’ he wrote.

Seb has urged fans to treat Lizzie with respect following the couple’s split, while also thanking his fans for their ongoing support.
‘Hey, I just want to thank everyone for all the supportive messages over the last few days. It really does make a difference,’ he wrote on Wednesday.
‘Please be kind to Liz and myself over the next little while for the sake of our mental health,’ he continued, adding a love-heart emoji.
