P.K. Subban says he ‘can focus on the game’ now that ‘hockey is back’… after Lindsey Vonn split

P.K. Subban says he ‘can focus’ on his ‘game’ now that ‘hockey is back’… after end of Lindsey Vonn engagement that made his ‘personal life’ a ‘public’ topic

P.K. Subban is looking ahead.

Last month the 31-year-old hockey player announced that he and Lindsey Vonn had ended their more than yearlong engagement and three-year romance.

And with the NHL season starting he told NJ.com: ‘It’s great to know that hockey is here again and I can focus on my game now, and I’m excited for that.’

Although his relationship with Lindsey became a major media sensation P.K. was untroubled by all of the publicity.

‘I’m used to people talking about me all the time, good or bad. None of that really matters to me,’ said the sports heartthrob.

‘People know that I have a zest for life and I’m always a happy guy. You know what? When your personal life becomes public, that’s what happens,’ he dished.

The fact that Lindsey is an internationally famous former skier also played into the public’s reaction to the relationship.

‘Fortunately and unfortunately, I was with somebody who was also a public figure, and that’s part of the deal. But that’s a part of life,’ P.K. acknowledged.

Both he and Lindsey had only warm words for one another last month when they popped over to Instagram to reveal their relationship was over.

‘Lindsey is one of the most kind and caring people I know. I will always treasure our time as a couple together and the many laughs we shared,’ he wrote.

Meanwhile she gushed: ‘Over the past 3 years PK and I have had some incredible times together. He is a kind, good man, and someone I respect a great deal.’

In fact both of their breakup posts included the same selfie and the exact same phrasing while saying that ‘after much consideration we have decided to move forward separately. We will always remain friends and love each other immensely.’

Lindsey and P.K. were together for over a year before he proposed to her at home, according to a joint interview they gave Vogue in August 2019.

‘We never talked about it or looked at rings. But he gave me an emerald necklace at Christmas, and I loved it. I wouldn’t change the ring at all,’ said Lindsey.

Then on Christmas Day 2019 she tweeted amid her engagement that she had proposed to P.K. and presented him with a ring.

She was previously married to fellow skier Thomas Vonn for four years and after her divorce she dated Tiger Woods from 2013 to 2015.

Lindsey announced her decision to retire from her sport on Instagram last February and shortly thereafter told Glamour: ‘I haven’t quite accepted it.’

She did try to shed some light on her choice, explaining: ”I’ve always said: “When I can’t ski how I want to ski, that’s when it’s time to finish.”‘

Although P.K. has his sport to turn to Lindsey will have to find another outlet as she retired from skiing while she was with him.
