This is the moment BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty is accused of interrupting Charlie Stayt in an awkward exchange live on air.

Footage shows the pair on the programme earlier this morning while having a discussion about igloo building.

Charlie attempts to try and tell a story about building the hut made of snow, but is continually interrupted by his co-host.

The awkward encounter live on air came to a head when Naga told weather presenter Matt Taylor: ‘I was just put in my place just to let Charlie speak’

The awkward encounter comes to a head when Naga told weather presenter Matt Taylor: ‘I was just put in my place just to let Charlie speak.’

While trying to tell the story of building the hut, Charlie said: ‘An igloo is a difficult thing to build,’ before he was asked by Naga if he had made one before.

The presenter answered that he had ‘been involved in igloo building in the past’ before he was cut off again by being asked if it was ‘in this country’.

The pair pause and stare at each other for a brief second before Charlie answers: ‘Yes’.

Naga then looks bemused as she replies: ‘Alright. It’s quite shocking,’ as she watches her co-presenter.

He replies: ‘Well, if you let me tell the story. There was very heavy snowfall, and ice, and what you have to do first is create bricks with the ice.

‘And then you have to build it round and then of course the top is very difficult.’

The pair then turn to the weather presenter on a screen, and continue to talk over each other, this time Charlie interrupting Naga.

Charlie said: ‘Matt some people are suggesting I’m stating the glaringly obvious there, but I’m just trying to tell an interesting anecdote in the morning, and I’m being mocked for it.’

Naga replies: ‘And Matt, obviously I was just put in my place just to let Charlie speak, which obviously I’m told a lot, but did you know igloo’s were founded by blocks of ice?’

The weather presenter gives an awkward laugh before saying he’s tried to make an ice hut himself before.

Matt finishes the encounter by laughing: ‘Anyway, shall we move on?’

Twitter users were quick to comment on the atmosphere between the two presenters after the exchange.

One wrote: ‘Do Naga and Charlie get on? Always get a vibe from watching them when watching #BBCBreakfast.’

Another said: ‘Naga and Charlie seem to be having a bit of a scratchy day.’
