Sami Lukis shares her tips for surviving the Brisbane lockdown including Zoom yoga and wine

Daily yoga sessions via Zoom, spare time spent spring cleaning and cracking open an expensive bottle of wine – Sami Lukis shares her tips for surviving Brisbane’s latest lockdown

Brisbane residents are set to enter a hard three-day lockdown on Friday evening, after a Brisbane quarantine hotel cleaner contracted a new UK strain of COVID-19.

And on Friday, media personality Sami Lukis revealed that her parents have been caught up in the stay-at-home order, making this their fourth lockdown since the start of the pandemic.

Writing a blog for Nine Honey, the 50-year-old revealed her parents’ top tips for surviving lockdown.

Not again: On Friday, media personality Sami Lukis (pictured) revealed that her parents have been caught up in Brisbane’s stay-at-home order, and shared their tips for surviving lockdown

Sami explained that her parents ‘swear by’ daily Zoom yoga sessions and they love doing it in the ‘privacy of their own home’.

Another way to pass the time is to ‘spring clean’ and do all those tasks you have been putting off like ‘cleaning the fridge’ and ‘reorganising the pantry’.

‘[Mum]  guarantees the sense of achievement you’ll feel after completing those long overdue tasks will be worth it,’ Sami revealed.

Finally, her parents say that you have to ‘treat yourself’ by indulging in a good bottle of wine and a book.

‘Crack open the expensive bottle of wine you’ve been saving,’ Sami added. ‘Read that book you’ve been wanting to start for ages.

‘And if you’re going to use the time to just binge-watch TV, Dad suggests you find a series with multiple seasons. That’ll keep you going for DAYS.’

Sami’s parents experienced their first lockdown in March after returning from a holiday in Europe, where they visited a hotspot.

On their last day of lockdown, Sami’s father tested positive for the virus sending them into another 14-day lockdown.

Their third time in isolation came after they visited Sami in Sydney for Christmas, but their trip was cut short when Queensland closed the borders amid the Northern Beaches outbreak.

Her parents had to fly back to Brisbane and and spend another two weeks in home-isolation.

She added: 'If you're going to use the time to just binge-watch TV, Dad suggests you find a series with multiple seasons. That'll keep you going for DAYS'
