Lil Nas X was planning to collaborate on a song with Miley Cyrus before COVID-19 pandemic

Lil Nas X first achieved success with the release of his country rap single Old Town Road on the viral popularity social media app TikTok in early 2019.

Several remixes of the song were released in the proceeding months, but by far the most popular featured country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, which helped it soar to number one on music charts around the world.

It turns out Nas had plans to follow-up all the success with some new music that included a collaboration with the country crooner’s daughter — pop superstar Miley Cyrus — but the COVID-19 pandemic put it on the back burner.

It was at this point that the host talked about seeing Nas and Miley together at a Tom Ford fashion show in early 2019.

‘And I was like, “God, I would like to see the two of them do something together.” Have you thought about that?’ Andy asked with an inquisitive tone.

Nas had already been toying with the idea of a collaboration with Miley around that time of the fashion show.

‘Yeah, 100. I had plans to work on this one song with Miley earlier last year, and then the pandemic happened,’ the two-time Grammy winner confessed.

‘So we didn’t get to like meet up or anything, but, you know, maybe it’ll happen now.’
