A fitness guru who dreamed of becoming the next Jodie Marsh has dodged jail after smashing into two cars while over the drink-drive limit for the second time.

Moira Dineley, 41, insisted she had only had a ‘wee drop’ to drink after her Honda Jazz Sport crashed into a Citroen parked at the side of the road in Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire.

The Citroen was then propelled forward into a parked Vauxhall Insignia, Falkirk Sheriff Court heard.

Dineley, who failed a breath test following the collision, was on her way to see an ‘anxious and upset’ friend at around 6.30am on June 8.

Prosecutor Kristina Kelly said: ‘The attention of civilian witnesses was attracted to this by the noise, and the accused was described as being confused and unsteady on her feet.

‘The witnesses asked if she was intoxicated, and she advised she had consumed alcohol the previous night, stating “it was only a wee drop”.

‘Police were called and the usual procedures were carried out.’

Dineley gave a breath sample that tested 26 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres, above the the legal limit of 22.

The fitness guru, who owns a women’s personal training outfit called Happy Heart Fitness and once said her dream was to be as successful as bodybuilder Ms Marsh, pleaded guilty to drink-driving yesterday.

The court heard how Dineley had a previous drink-driving conviction dating from 2017, when she was banned for two years and placed on a community payback order as an alternative to imprisonment.

Solicitor Murray Aitken, defending, said that on the occasion in June, Dineley had been ‘not much’ over the limit.

He said she was responding to a telephone call ‘from a friend who was anxious and upset’ when the accident occurred.

He said: ‘She did not believe she was over the legal limit and a very short period of time later, she would not have been.

‘She has expressed remorse, surrendered her licence, and sold her vehicle.

‘She is an intelligent woman, and the seriousness of the situation is not lost on her.’

Sheriff Pino Di Emidio said: ‘It is sometimes by a very fine line that people fall foul of these statutory limits, but they are the limits the law has provided for.

‘If this was a high reading, she’d be looking at prison.’

Dineley was fined £600 and banned from driving for three years.

‘It is a very serious matter for you to be convicted on a second occasion in a relatively short period of time,’ the sheriff told her.

Dineley describes herself on Facebook as a ‘GET Team Member at Herbalife Nutrition and Owner at Happy Heart Fitness’.

In 2013, she told The Sunday Mail she had been inspired to get into fitness after giving birth to her son and having a size 16 figure.

She said: ‘I want to get up to the top standard and it would be a dream to be as successful as Jodie Marsh has been.’
