Chezzi Denyer slams Grant’s appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 

Grant Denyer has quickly become a fan favourite on the latest season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 

But on Wednesday, his wife Chezzi revealed that she thinks Grant, 43, is a ‘terrible candidate’ for the reality TV series. 

Posting to Instagram, the expectant mother explained that despite his outgoing personality on TV, the Gold Logie winner is actually very ‘shy’ in real life.  

‘Going on this show for Grant is much more difficult than just losing some creature comforts,’ Chezzi wrote in a lengthy caption. 

‘He’s used to being away. Away from his family a lot. Living out of a suitcase in various hotel rooms. But he’s extremely shy. Most people don’t realise or believe this.’

She went on to say that the ‘upbeat, confident and energetic persona’ he portrays on TV takes a lot of ‘energy’ and that he is very different at home. 

‘He’s not like that all the time. He is quiet & reserved. He is lovable. He is goofy. He is kind. He is sensitive, & he is thoughtful,’ she said.  

Chezzi admitted that Grant is terrified of ‘snakes’, ‘can’t handle bad smells’, gets ‘claustrophobic in certain situations’, and likes to spend time alone. 

She explained that it’s for these reasons that she thinks he is a ‘terrible candidate’ for the show, but she couldn’t be prouder of him for giving it a go. 

‘When he gets home after working away, and spending some quality time with his family, he likes to retreat to the tractor or the mower & not talk to anyone for hours,’ she wrote. 

‘Grant is a TERRIBLE candidate for this show. Hence, why I am so bursting with so much pride that he gave this a go.’ 

She signed it off: ‘I’m loving seeing the more vulnerable & real side of him on camera & I hope you will too. Go Grant!’
