Hilary Duff played it safe and responsible and quarantined away from her children due to a potential exposure to COVID-19 in November.
And now, nearly six weeks later, the actress and singer revealed she recently got an eye infection over her holiday break from filming the TV Land series Younger in New York City.
And turns out the painful infection was caused by the many coronavirus tests she has had to take while on the set.

The 33-year-old actress, who’s pregnant with her third child, made the revelation when she shared some of her family’s adventures from the Christmas holiday on her Instagram Stories on Monday, January 4.
She started the lengthy post by clarifying why she had been inactive on social media of late.
‘I took a break from social media for a while over the holiday and just from my phone in gen…. it was a delight! Missed you all! Hope everyone had a happy holiday,’ she wrote across a lovely solo photo of herself wearing a beanie cap.
Her family adventures over the holidays included leaving New York to spend Christmas in Boston with her husband, Matthew Koma’s brother and his family.

‘Then my eye started to look weird….and hurt…. a lot…,’ she explained in one of her pictures shared. Moments later, she shared a shot of an emergency room door at a hospital.
‘So took a little trip to the emergency room. I got an eye infection from all of the covid tests at work…. cuz you know, 2020 and all.’
Not wanting to keep her 16.2 million fans and followers in limbo too long, Duff wasted little time in sharing: ‘P.S. my eye is fine, needed antibiotics.’

Duff, Koma and Banks also flew home to Los Angeles to share a second Christmas with her son Luca after being away on the East Coast for three months.
There were plenty of images of Banks and Luca, whom Duff shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie, soaking in another round of Christmas joy.
But soon enough the family packed up and were back on what appeared to be a private plane and headed back to NYC.
A couple of hours later the Texas native shared an adorable black-and-white pic of herself cradling her baby bump alongside her husband and daughter.
‘Luca deep in the roblox… Other mothers feel me??, the Lizzie McGuire star shared in the caption, in a reference to her eight-year-old son not being in the photo because he’s engulfed in the online game platform and game creation system, Roblex.

Duff has been filming the seventh and final season of Younger in the Big Apple opposite Sutton Foster, Peter Hermann, and Molly Bernard.
The single-camera series follows the trials and tribulations of Liza Miller, played by Foster, who lies about being younger for a chance to reboot her career and love life.
Duff plays Kelsey Peters, a book editor at Empirical Press who befriends Liza after they start working together.
So far there’s no official word on when the final season of the critically acclaimed series will premiere.
