Florida pedophile’s secret lair: Hidden underground bunker is found at home of child pornography suspect, 57, after he confronted cops with a shotgun when they served warrant

- Bass was charged with 100 count of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of child pornography production

A Florida pedophile who was arrested for manufacturing child pornography had a hidden underground bunker on his property, officials say.
Marty Scott Bass 57, was arrested on December 16 when police arrived to his Defuniak Springs home to serve a search warrant and officers found child pornography on his phone and a underground lair with an entrance disguised as a bench.
Bass was charged with 100 count of possession of child pornography and 10 counts of child pornography production.
Though Bass was arrested earlier this month the sheriff’s office didn’t announce details of the case until Tuesday.
When Walton County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit first arrived to the home, Bass answered the door holding a shotgun.
His secret lair: Investigators found a secret bunker located in the shed adjacent to his home. The bunker’s entrance was disguised as a bench and when lifting the bench a hole was located leading underground
After commands by SWAT team members to stand down he put the weapon down and was detained.
Officers went to the home a following a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
During the search Bass’s cellphone was located and forensically downloaded and evaluated and investigators found the device contained 100 plus images of child pornography, some of which were produced by Bass depicting children between the ages of eight to 10.
Bass lived in a home in the woods in DeFuniak Springs, Florida
They also found a secret bunker in the search located in the shed adjacent to his home.
The bunker’s entrance was disguised as a bench and when lifting the bench a hole was located leading underground.
Bass is being held at the Walton County jail and his bond is set at $1million.
