Big Brother’s Dave Graham looks very different now – ten years after starring on the reality show

He was a trailblazer on Australian reality TV as one of the first openly gay contestants on Big Brother back in 2006.

And 14 years on from his stint on the hit show, David ‘Farmer Dave’ Graham looks very different to when he starred on the then Channel 10 program.

On Thursday, the 39-year-old shared a photo of himself on Instagram, shirtless and sitting in a sheep trough as he enjoyed a cold beer.

Back then! In 2006, Dave had a clean shaven look and a model-like smile

Like fine wine! Big Brother’s Dave Graham looks almost unrecognisable more than a decade on from starring on the hit show (pictured right in 2006). While he still had his trademark long blonde locks, he had grown himself an impressive bristling beard (pictured left on Thursday)

While he still had his trademark long blonde locks, the farmer once nicknamed ‘the gay cowboy’ had grown himself an impressive bristling beard.

The former reality TV star also appeared to have been working out while in lockdown as he showed off his muscular frame.

In another photo, he beamed alongside his pet dog who joined him in the trough.

‘Merry Christmas… from a bloke in a sheep trough who is just so content with his life, so happy yet so exhausted with 2020 coming to a close,’ he said in the caption.

‘Here is cheers to you Baby Jesus,’ he quipped

Since Dave’s stint on Big Brother, he has gone on to forge a career as an international dog trainer.

Earlier this year he spoke to Mamamia that he was touring the USA doing live dog training gigs when COVID-19 broke out.

‘They shut down New Orleans the second day I was there. The day after that we got on a plane and got the hell home,’ he told the website.

Dave is also a father to three donor children – the mothers of Dave’s children are all friends of the former reality star, and include two straight women and one lesbian.

He says his international dog training career has kept him from spending as much time with his three daughters as he’d like.

Dave told the website that he is ‘pretty much living out of a suitcase’ and ‘very rarely’ sees his kids.

‘Their mums will bring them to where I’m doing a show and I get to see them during the break,’ he said.

‘That’s not connecting with your kids and I realise that now. I need to take time out and go and spend weekends and actually hang out with them and just do whatever it is that they want to do.

‘They’ve got super-loving families around them and all that sort of stuff, and I’m a donor dad so it’s a little bit different to a full-time role of a father, but a dad’s a dad.’

Last year, Dave said that fatherhood and his busy life negated the need for a husband.

‘We have this amazing family where I’m an integral part of their lives and it negates the need for chasing a husband,’ he explained to The Daily Telegraph.

‘But you never know, I’m still one of those blokes who’s looking and hoping and waiting (for the one).’

Fans of Big Brother will remember Dave, also known as ‘farmer Dave’, for coming in third place on Big Brother in 2006.

He came out as gay during a live episode of the show, but told Mamamia that he does not remember any of the details now because of the heightened emotion of the moment.
