The Morning Show’s glamorous Angela Cox joins 7News alongside Michael Usher on the weekends

She’s one of the glamorous journalists on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show. 

And on Thursday, it was announced that Angela Cox will add another role to her resume by joining the 7News team as their new anchor.

Angela will co-host the news program at 6pm alongside Michael Usher on weekends. 

On December 26, Angela will temporarily co-host Sydney’s news program with Mark throughout the week, while host Mark Ferguson is on vacation.  

Then from January, the duo will transition to the weekend position on Friday and Saturday evenings. 

‘I’m thrilled to be joining Michael at the desk,’ Angela said in a statement. 

‘He’s an outstanding newsman and a good bloke with a surprisingly cheeky sense of humour. 

‘We’ve worked together closely over the years particularly on The Latest, and most recently Seven’s US election coverage.’  

Director of 7News Sydney, Jason Morrison, added: ‘Michael and Angela have the experience and have earned the respect of our audience.’ 

‘Angela has done the hard yards and been with 7NEWS from her start in television journalism. It is great to see her achieve one of the most senior positions in the newsroom.’ 

Angela was formally the US correspondent for the network before being given a regular gig on The Morning Show with Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur. 

She said after doing so many live-crosses about Kim Kardashian with them she ‘already feels part of the family’.
