Princess Eleonore and Prince Emmanuel of Belgium play during Brussels’ royal Christmas concert

Princess Eleonore and Prince Emmanuel of Belgium have showed off their musical skills during this year’s royal Christmas concert. 

The young Belgian royals delighted during this year’s event, which took place at the royal palace in Brussels, and will be broadcast on several TV channels around Belgium on December 20. 

Their parents, King Philippe, 60 and Queen Mathilde, 47, proudly looked on their performances, while their elder sister Princess Elisabeth, 19 and big brother Prince Gabriel, 17 also watched.

The family were dressed to the nines for the occasion and also took their traditional Christmas picture, which saw them pose in front of the Christmas tree in the Brussels Palace’s throne room.

The former monarchs King Albert II, 86,  and Queen Paola, 83, did not attend, perhaps due to Covid-19 restrictions. 

Princess Eleonore, who was wearing a blue dress for her performance, looked focus as she put on an impressive display of her mastery of violin during the concert. 

Wearing a sanitary mask, in keeping with coronavirus guideline, the young princess was the picture of concentration. 

Her blond locks were styled straight, with two adorable braids meeting at the back of her head.

Meanwhile, her older brother Prince Emmanuel looked confident as he impressed with his alto saxophone, wearing a dashing black suit with a crisp white shirt. 

Along with the royal children, girls from the Scala Choir sang, directed by Scala director Stijn Kolacny and singer Jasper Steverlinck during the recording of this year’s Royal Christmas Concert 

Both children changed to have their family picture taken by the nativity scene and Christmas trees laid in the throne room. 

Princess Eleonore went for a red dress, while Emmanuel put on a tie. 

Their glamorous mother King Mathilde opted for an elegant midi number in crushed velvet with red and black flowers. 

She accessorised with red shoes, and kept her accessories to a minimum, only sporting a pair of rose gold drop earring

Her blond locks were styled in an impeccable ear-length blow-dry, and her makeup was understated, with just a dash of mascara and eye-liner to bring the focus to her blue eyes. 

Her eldest daughter Princess Elisabeth, who recently started her course at Brussels’ Military Academy, which was attended by her father before her, swapped her cadet uniform, beret and combat boots for a darling blush pink number. 

The outfit, which reached to her ankles, was a stylish shirt dress with a modest V-neckline with a rose gold detail. Her hair was styled in a wavy blow-dry.

Like her mother, she had picked drop earring in rose gold, and sported a little bit of makeup with complimented her natural porcelain skin. 

Her younger brother Prince Gabriel, who is in his last year of high school, looked dapper in a suit resembling this of his father King Philippe. 

Both men wore black suits with white shirts, but went for different ties and jackets: Gabriel went for a more modern cut with silver buttons and an understated midnight dotted tie, while Philippe wore a colourful tie in red, with a floral motif.
