Lil Wayne is sued by former manager for more than $20M over past earnings

Lil Wayne is being sued by his former manager Ronald Sweeney for more than $20 million.

Sweeney said in court docs that the 38-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. hired him 15 years ago amid the restructuring of his deal for his Young Money label with Cash Money head Birdman, according to TMZ.

Sweeney said that when the Grammy Award-winning rap star settled things with Cash Money more than two years ago, he has only received a handful of small payments in connection with the deal.

The latest: Lil Wayne, 36, is being sued by his former manager Ronald Sweeney for more than $20 million. He was snapped in Miami earlier this year 

Sweeney told the court that the Love Me rapper ordered him to terminate his label’s deal with his manager Cortez Bryant in May of 2018 over separate litigation between the Cash Money label and Drake.

Sweeney said in court docs that after Bryant was let go, Lil Wayne raised his commission fees from 10 percent to 17 percent, but let go of him four months later that September at the urging of Bryant and Mack Maine

Sweeney said that Lil Wayne is flush with resources after his sale of his masters for $100 million-plus to Universal Music Group.

The rapper last year sued his ex-agent for $20 million over a fees dispute in regards to commission, the outlet reported.

The rapper made headlines this past October when he endorsed President Donald Trump in his losing re-election bid.

‘Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus,’ he tweeted prior to the election. ‘Besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. 

‘He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.’
