‘Will we ever see you again?’ Piers Morgan quizzed Ranvir Singh over her future on Good Morning Britain amid claims bosses fear they could lose her after her success on Strictly (pictured with co-host Susanna Reid)

Piers said: ‘Now, I’ve got two supplementaries for you, to try and part the sycophancy for one moment,’ to which co-host Susanna Reid quipped: ‘I bet you can guess what one of them is!’

The ITV star quizzed: ‘One, the body language suggests to me that things are moving fast between you and Giovanni, anything you want to report?’

To which Ranvir, who has continuously denied any romance rumours, replied with: ‘Nothing I want to report at all actually, thank you very much!’

Undeterred, Piers continued: ‘Second, there are a lot of rumours swirling around in the media at the weekend that because of your phenomenal success on this show, you will be heartlessly ditching GMB to pursue fame and fortune.’

He jokingly added: ‘Will we ever see you again, is this the farewell?’

To which a giggling Ranvir replied with: ‘Oh my God you will definitely see me again!’

The star added: ‘Look, I love my job and when Strictly is finished, there’s only two weeks left, whether it’s this weekend or the weekend after.

‘You know Strictly is an incredible moment in anyone’s life and anyone’s career to do it, but your job is what you’ve dedicated your life doing and I love my job and I love working at GMB.’

Susanna joked: ‘Yeah, yeah’ with Piers adding: ‘Of course you do, we believe you.’

To which Ranvir quipped: ‘Well, I mean come January 1, things might change… I’m only joking!’

Piers added: ‘The two great lies of our time – one, “there’s nothing going on with me and Giovanni”, and two “I’ll be straight back standing on doorsteps in the pouring rain at 6am as soon as I’ve won Strictly”.

‘Ranvir, we wish you continued good luck because you’re our star. We’ve never had a winner, on this show – we’ve had a second place, we’ve never had a Strictly winner!’

On Saturday’s show, Ranvir gave an emotional performance to She Used To Be Mine from the hit musical Waitress, where she was awarded 27 out of 30. Prior to the routine, she spoke about how much her confidence has grown.

The presenter said she has had ‘loads of women’ get in touch since the performance, she sweetly shared: ‘The thing is loads of women have been in touch, actually quite a few men as well, just saying that it made them feel something.

‘I struggle to act anyway, I am always reasonably honest about how I think and feel and I don’t really have much of a filter. And I suppose in a way that has translated and people at home really do feel they could be me.’

Ranvir added that people don’t ever really know what others ‘think about themselves’ or ‘how they feel about themselves’.

She told Piers and Susanna: ‘But there is a difference there I think. And it is that sort of confusing mix between what you see and how you feel.

‘And I think when people see you on TV or doing your job, or you know if you’re a CEO or work in a company or wherever you’re working in an office or whatever it might be.

‘Actually you don’t really know how people think about themselves and how they feel about themselves. And actually I suppose it genuinely has, you know everything we do is genuinely just about what you think and what you say.

‘And it hasn’t been about your body – not for me anyway, I’ve never done magazine shoots and things like that.

‘It’s not something that – I’m not into fashion, like I’ve always held that side of things quite away because I’ve thought: “Well that’s not me, I can’t offer that. I’m not beautiful, I’m not any of these things, you know I’m not slim.”‘

To which Piers sweetly replied with: ‘Well actually Ranvir unfortunately, you are all of those things! That’s why you’re doing so well!’

Over the weekend, sources told The Mail On Sunday that GMB bosses fear Ranvir’s heightened popularity after Strictly will result in her being inundated with other, more lucrative offers.

‘Ranvir is bigger than standing on Downing Street in the rain in the early hours of the morning now,’ said one insider.

‘She has shown her true self on Strictly and is now quite the star.’

'I love GMB': 'You know Strictly is an incredible moment in anyone's life and anyone's career to do it, but your job is what you've dedicated your life doing and I love my job and I love working at GMB,' Ranvir added

Elsewhere, the star’s chemistry with dance partner Giovanni has fuelled talk of a romance.

It intensified following a clip of their performance last week in which he was heard saying: ‘I love you’ at the end.

However, the television presenter has insisted that romance between the pair is ‘fantasy’.

Friends of the Strictly pro also deny they are in a relationship, adding: ‘It’s just for TV.’

On Saturday’s episode, judge Craig Revel Horwood described the duo’s Viennese waltz to She Used To Be Mine from the hit musical Waitress as ‘beautiful’, awarding her nine out of ten.

Fellow judges Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse matched his score, giving her 27 out of 30.

A teary Motsi told the dancing duo: ‘I was moved from your words from your VT and I think every mum has a connection, but I’m more emotional about your dancing!

‘Because now you’ve finally come into you… all your qualities came together today. For me that was such a magic moment.’

Ranvir candidly chatted about how she’s grown in confidence during the show in the video played ahead of her routine on Saturday.

She said: ‘Doing strictly has made me confront how I think, it does force you to look at yourself in a different way.

‘Each week you have to feel braver about your body, not hiding behind a big coat and boots like I’ve spent the past 20 years doing. It’s lovely to realise there’s untapped potential in yourself.’

The star added: ‘So many women and mums watch the show and recognise themselves in my, you could say, discomfort, and finding a way to feel like you’re still worth feeling proud of.’

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV.
