Celebs Go Dating’s Curtis Pritchard ‘tests positive for COVID-19 despite quarantining for two weeks’

Celebs Go Dating star Curtis Pritchard has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, causing filming to be postponed.

It was revealed earlier this week that filming on the E4 dating show had been halted, due to a positive COVID-19 test – with the former Love Island star, 24, said to have contracted the virus despite quarantining for two weeks.

The Sun reports that Curtis is asymptomatic and he is in isolation until he tests negative.

A source said: ‘It’s just terrible luck for Curtis. He followed all the rules by the letter of the law, quarantined for two weeks and kept himself to himself.

‘And he still managed to somehow pick up this virus.

‘He is absolutely fine, has no symptoms and feels fit as a fiddle. But it’s put the brakes on the whole show until he gets the all-clear and everyone else continues to test negative.’

Mailonline has contacted representatives for Curtis Pritchard and E4 for comment.

This comes weeks after Curtis’ brother, Strictly dancer AJ, 26, tested positive for Covid just days before the new series of I’m A Celebrity, which put his position on the show in jeopardy – but after self isolating he was given the green light to take part.

The entire show were reportedly on ‘tenterhooks’ awaiting confirmation that AJ was free of the disease after the ITV team had undergone ‘incredible lengths’ to ensure the set is Covid secure.

In a recent interview, AJ told MailOnline: ‘I did have a positive Covid test early on into my isolation.

‘I’m very, very happy to report I’ve had two negative tests recently and they’ve both come back very, very negative which means I’m 100 per cent going into the jungle/castle whatever we’re calling it now, into the castle, and I’m very excited about that. A big relief for everybody.

‘I just want to thank ITV for all their stringent measures and the whole point of us going into lockdown and isolating was just in case this happened so thank you very much to ITV for making everybody feel safe and secure in this situation.’

He added: ‘I didn’t have any symptoms and I think that’s the thing with this.

‘It’s a crazy world we live in and we all have something to deal with, but thankfully I didn’t have any symptoms. But the positive thing is that I’m completely negative now.’

The Celebs Go Dating stars arrived at the £30million country mansion in Sussex earlier this week to start shooting for the new season which is set to air in 2021.

A TV insider told The Sun at the time: ‘It’s not clear which celebrity has tested positive, but they are showing no symptoms. Despite isolating before taking part, this is a stroke of bad luck.’

While a show spokesman confirmed to the publication that filming has been paused while bosses wait for more information about the test result.

They added: ‘The result was unexpected since the individual had quarantined prior to entering the house, and had been regularly receiving negative results.

‘All those in the house are now isolating while we await the results of further testing and consult with medical experts.’
