Larry Emdur is one of the most playful presenters on Australian TV.

And on Saturday, the 55-year-old showcased his sense of humour yet again as he braved Sydney and New South Wales’ heatwave.

Seven’s Morning Show host showed fans how he was cooling off in an ingenious, makeshift pool in the tray of his ute.

‘Genius’: TV star Larry Emdur, 55, (pictured) created a makeshift pool out of tray of his ute calling it ‘unAustralyan’ not to during Sydney’s scorching heatwave on Saturday

‘A Ute-pool in a heatwave ??! Hell Yehh !!!! Would’ve been unAustralyan not too #survivor #utepool,’ Larry cheekily captioned his post.

Larry was seen holding a beer in celebration as he parked on a hill overlooking a bush scrub vista.

A number of Larry’s celebrity friends joked about his new ‘pool’ on Instagram.

Ute pools have been much-celebrated on social media, but some manufacturers have cautioned against the practice, warning the density of water makes it much heavier than timber and other materials, such as crushed asphalt.

‘I’d love to be one of those people who can puff their chest out and have a good solid argument but I’m just not. Once I screamed at our son and I ran off and threw up,’ he added.
