But that didn’t stop Piers Morgan, 55, from playfully sparring with Lennox Lewis, 55, on Monday morning, after the boxer revealed that people urged him to knock Piers out during his GMB appearance. 

Lennox also claimed that Mike Tyson had texted to warned him that the Good Morning Britain host is BORING.

Much to Susanna Reid’s amusement, Lennox joked that fellow boxer Mike Tyson had texted him ahead of appearing on GMB to warn him that Piers is BORING. 

Last month, Mike appeared on the show to discuss coming out of retirement to fight Roy Jones Junior, however his sleepy manner led to mass worry on Twitter 

Discussing his friendship with the controversial star, Lennox said: ‘Mike Tyson is a great guy in one sense. I knew him when he was younger…

‘I grew to like him and really know him when he was amateur. ‘And then he went into a pro career and I didn’t know why he was acting like that.’

Piers jumped in and asked if he’d have beaten Mike Tyson at the height of his career, Lennox confidently responded: ‘Yes. I am I five dimensional fighter. He is a one dimensional fighter.’

Reminding Lennox of the time Piers won Celebrity Apprentice, he said: ‘When you die your tombstone is going to read: “Unbeaten except for Piers Morgan.”‘  

Bored by her co-star, Susanna asked Lennox if he could just ‘knock him out’, adding: ‘Can’t you just do that for us?’  

Lennox then revealed that he’d received ‘so many texts from people telling me to knock you [Piers] out’ ahead of his GMB appearance.

Elated by the revelation, Piers joked: ‘Bring it on big boy! Because last time you tried I demolished you.’ 

Elsewhere during the segment, Piers played multiple clips of Donald Trump crowning him on the American version of Celebrity Apprentice, which Lennox also starred in.

Susanna poked fun at Piers, insisting: ‘He has dined out on it ever since. We know Piers won. He bangs on about it every single day.’

Asked about his opinion of Donald Trump, Lennox admitted: ‘I try not to get involved in politics. As a person he loves all the athletes.

‘I went to see him in the White House the other day [four months ago]. He loves it. We went to go and get a pardon for Jack Johnson. Jack Johnson got in trouble for marrying a white lady and in America it was a crime at that time.’ 

Piers added: ‘It’s a shame about Trump because he has done many things that are laudable. He’s done things that are very interesting about criminal justice reform, which will get lost amongst the noise.’

Quizzed about whether he believes he and Lewis Hamilton should have knighthoods, Lennox insisted: ‘I’m not really on a mission for it. If it comes it comes. A lot of my friends call me ‘Sir’ already!’
