Karl Stefanovic took a cheeky dig at retired cricketer Michael Clarke live on the Today show on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old TV host was interviewing the sports star when he mentioned his new high-profile romance with fashion designer and Bondi-based socialite, Pip Edwards.
Karl – who like Michael previously made headlines for his divorce and new romance – hilariously thanked Michael for ‘keeping him out of The Daily Mail’ by dating Pip.

‘Mate, you look very happy too and I want to thank you for keeping me out of The Daily Mail,’ Karl said.
He added: ‘How’s everything at home, you’re in love and all that stuff. Happy, happy?’
Michael appeared to want to keep mum on his romance with Pip and deflected the question.

‘Mate, I’m going well, like I say, it’s good to spend some time with my little girl. I hate the fact I’m keeping you out of the media, so can you have another baby and change that please?’ Michael hilariously quipped.
Karl – who recently said he wants another child with new wife Jasmine Yarbrough – replied: ‘Finger’s crossed. You look happy mate!’
Karl made headlines when he split from ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn in mid-2016, after more than two decades together. He has since gone on to marry shoe designer and model Jasmine Yarbrough.

Michael and ex-wife Kyly Clarke announced in February that they had split after seven years of marriage, in a divorce estimated to be worth $40million.
Kyly, 38, and Michael had been separated for five months prior to making the announcement.
It is understood there was no third party involved in their shock split.
The Clarkes have said the ‘amicable’ decision to separate was ‘the best course’ for their four-year-old daughter Kelsey Lee.
Reports surfaced Michael had begun dating Pip after his separation with Kyly became public knowledge.
Pip seemingly confirmed their relationship by going ‘Instagram Official’ in July, and the pair enjoyed a PDA-filled trip to Noosa, Queensland that same month.
While Michael is notoriously private about his love life, he did reveal that he’s ‘so happy right now’ and is ‘in a great place’ in an interview with The Daily Telegraph’s Stellar magazine last month.
