Princess Beatrice has revealed her ‘magical’ wedding day to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was ‘filled with special memories with our families’ in a handwritten thank you note sent to well-wishers.
The monarch’s granddaughter, 32, wed property developer Edo in secret on July 17 at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor, after the pair were forced to postpone their planned nuptials on May 29 due to Covid-19.
Yesterday, royal fan account @TheDuchessOfWonderland shared a snap of a thank you card sent from Beatrice to well-wishers who had written to congratulate her on the big day.
In the handwritten note, she penned: ‘Thank you so much for the wonderful note you so kindly sent to us on the occasion of our wedding this summer at Royal Lodge.

‘Edo and I had a magical day filled with special moments with our families.’
Princess Beatrice continued: ‘We are so grateful to all those who have worked hard to protect our communities over the last few months, we owe them so much.
‘Thank you for thinking of us as we begin our married life. Beatrice and Edo x.’
Meanwhile the front of the card showed a photograph of the couple emerging through a stunning flower arch following their wedding ceremony.

Sharing the note online, the fan wrote: ‘Look what the postman brought this morning, Princess Beatrice’s wedding reply.
‘I loved this photo so I’m so happy it was used and the card and the message inside is just so sweet and a lovely nod to all those who helped during the pandemic.’
It comes after Beatrice shared a rare tweet thanking people who sent their best wishes to the couple on their special day, adding: ‘Edo and I are so excited to embark on this new chapter together.’
She also shared a tweet by the Royal Collection Trust encouraging people to visit its current exhibition where her Norman Hartnell-created wedding dress – which she borrowed from the Queen, 94 – shoes and a replica bouquet are currently on display.

Yesterday Beatrice tweeted to thank people who sent their best wishes to the couple on their special day, adding: ‘Edo and I are so excited to embark on this new chapter together’
Beatrice tweeted: ‘It was an honour to wear my grandmother’s beautiful dress on my wedding day, I hope many of you are able to visit the exhibition which is still open at Windsor Castle.’
Her Majesty wore the stunning vintage gown to a State dinner for the Italian Prime Minister in Rome in 1961 and to the premiere of Lawrence of Arabia at the Odeon in London’s Leicester Square in 1962.
Small adjustments were made to the gown by the monarch’s dresser Angela Kelly and designer Stewart Parvin for Beatrice’s wedding day, including the addition of cap sleeves embroidered with vintage diamantés.
The Queen also loaned Beatrice the Queen Mary Fringe tiara she wore herself when she married Prince Philip in 1947.

The last time Princess Beatrice tweeted was over a year ago in September 2019, to announce her engagement to Edo.
Last month Beatrice broke her silence about her secret wedding, claiming it was ‘so much fun’ in a video for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice where she announced the winners of the organisation’s Kids Summer Art Competition 2020.
The wedding ceremony details were not made public beforehand and the pair were originally due to marry in the Chapel Royal followed by a reception in the gardens of Buckingham Palace – but their big day was postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Beatrice’s father the Duke of York walked her down the aisle but he did not feature in the photographs released by Buckingham Palace. The wedding was also attended by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
Beatrice’s wedding gown will be on display from September 24 until November 22.
