Melissa Benoist has been enjoying some quality family time during quarantine as she basks in the glow of motherhood.
The Houston-born actress/singer welcomed her first child into the world last month with husband Chris Wood.
She recently revealed that she’s ‘loving being a parent,’ as she gushed over her newborn son Huxley Robert.

The 32-year-old said Saturday during an Instagram Live with Congresswoman Karen Bass: ‘Oh, man, he’s the best. I am loving being a parent. I love being a mom. He’s such a sweetheart.’
She admitted that Huxley is getting ‘so big and every day I’m, like, crying because he’s gained half an ounce.’
Melissa also said of the baby’s first Halloween: ‘We’ll probably watch movies… It’s a bummer we’re not gonna get any trick-or-treaters, but it’s for a good reason.’

The proud parents posted a photo of the baby’s tiny hand, as dad captioned his post: ‘Our son was born his name is Huxley he’s amazing and no it’s probably none of your business xo brb see you in 18 years’
They announced their pregnancy back in March on Instagram, posing with their dog, as mom-to-be held up a tiny blue sweater.
She wrote: ‘A non-canine child is coming to our family very soon!!! @christophrwood has always been an old dad by nature but now he’s going to be a real one!’

‘I’m so excited that we get to plan our conclusion to this amazing journey, and I cannot wait for you to see what we have in store. I promise we’re going to make it one helluva final season.’
The Whiplash actress also discussed domestic violence during her chat with Congresswoman Bass: ‘I’m really excited to talk to you about a number of different things and most importantly because I think it’s so personal to me.
‘Last year in April, you announced the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act which is a matter very close to me because I have experienced domestic violence personally, I’ve spoken out about it.’
She first opened up about her experience with domestic violence last November, in a video on Instagram.
Although Melissa did name her abuser at the time, she said: ‘He was a magnanimous person, who didn’t really give you a choice not to be drawn to him.
‘He could be charming, funny, manipulative, devious. He was younger than me, his maturity obvious. For a period of time, I wasn’t interested. I was newly single, gaining my bearing in a change in my life.’

Earlier this month, ex-husband Blake Jenner, 28, to whom she was married from 2015 to 2017 after meeting in 2012 on Glee, appeared to confirm suspicions that the allegations were about him.
He wrote in a lengthy statement on Instagram: ‘Over the past eleven months, I have been thinking about how to address a personal situation made public in late-2019.
‘Throughout that time, I reflected on a period in my life that I had previously kept in the darkness out of shame and fear, but I know this is something that needs to be addressed, not just publicly, but also privately with the individual directly affected and with myself.’
The What/If actor continued: ‘I take full responsibility and accountability for the hurt that I inflicted during my relationship with my past partner — emotionally, mentally and yes, physically.’
He went on to point the finger back at his ex, painting their relationship as more mutually toxic: ‘Without absolving myself of any responsibility, it is important to understand that there was mental, emotional and physical abuse inflicted from both ends…
‘I have thought long and hard about whether or not to speak about the pain that was inflicted onto me throughout the course of this relationship by my former partner; and I have come to the conclusion that yes, it is important for me to do so.’
