Sam Faiers and her partner Paul Knightley’s attitude to education has long caused division among their family and friends.
Yet the time has now come for the couple to send their son Paul, four, to school and on Thursday night’s Mummy Diaries finale the emotional moment plays out.
The TOWIE star, 29, is seen breaking down while her partner tries to hold it together during drop off, as Sam says: ‘It’s really exciting but it is really hard because that’s it now. It’s a lot to adjust to. We’re such attachment parents that it is really hard’.

As Sam and Paul Sr. drive their son to school, the tot adorably says to his mum: ‘Are you doing happy tears?’, to which she responded: ‘Happy tears!’
At the gate, Sam said: ‘Can I have one cuddle and kiss? I love you so much’.
Then speaking to the camera, she said: ‘It’s really exciting but it is really hard because that’s it now. It’s a lot to adjust to.’
In the car, it is clear Sam is overcome with emotion, as she held on to Big Paul’s arm while welling up and saying: ‘It’s so emotional, it’s so sweet.’

On an earlier series of The Mummy Diaries, Sam and Paul disagreed about whether to send their son to pre-school, and last year she admitted Paul Jr. – then three -was still not in nursery despite him starting school this year.
The reality star spoke exclusively to MailOnline when she revealed that he was not yet at nursery after she had a furious row with partner Paul about the decision.
She said at the time: ‘This time next year, he’ll be going to school. It’s going to go really quick and it gives me butterflies in my tummy…
‘I just think that’s a whole different chapter of life. They could be in school for years, potentially until uni, you just don’t know how long they are going to be gone for.’

Talking about nursery, she said: ‘So, he’s not. I did try him at a couple, one play group with a nursery, it wasn’t really working out for us. More so us than him and I think while we’ve got the flexibility with work, we can have him at home.
‘A lot of people would be like “Why isn’t he in nursery? Blah, blah, blah!” We don’t actually have to send him because we can juggle it ourselves.
‘So next year, he goes to school, I’m going to hopefully find a school which has a pre-school within the school, so he can spend six months there and go straight into reception, that’s the plan. That’s the dream.’
