Stan secures a landmark deal with NBCUniversal as the streaming platform enters a multi-year exclusive content partnership

Australian streaming platform Stan has secured a new content deal with global entertainment giant NBCUniversal.

The multi-year partnership, announced on Wednesday, will increase the calibre of TV shows and films available for customers on demand.

Stan’s deal will reintroduce classic programs, while debuting exciting new titles and hosting an expanded line-up of blockbuster movie franchises.

With eight streaming services available to Australian consumers, Stan’s new deal sets it apart with exclusive content viewers want to watch.

Stan will become the Australian home of new productions from Sky Studios, NBCUniversal International Studios and Universal Studio Group.

The deal will also see Stan become the exclusive home of new DreamWorks Animation TV shows, in addition to NBCUniversal’s acclaimed children’s programming, and hundreds of Hollywood films from NBCUniversal’s catalogue.

Dystopian drama Brave New World will premiere exclusively on Stan.

Other upcoming series coming exclusively to Stan include Dr. Death, Angelyne, Rutherford Falls, the Saved by the Bell reboot, and the all-new Punky Brewster. 

Stan will also be the exclusive home to exciting new content from NBCUniversal International Studios, including Lady Parts – an anarchic, laugh-out-loud music comedy about a Muslim female punk band. 

Sky UK’s biggest original drama launch of the year, Gangs of London, will also be added to Stan’s extensive library.

Stan’s Chief Executive Officer, Mike Sneesby, said: ‘This marks the first time an agreement combining series from Sky Studios, DreamWorks Animation and Peacock content produced by Universal Studio Group has been secured in Australia – the biggest new slate of premium scripted content to come to market in recent times.’
