Anna Wintour dons a white mask to match her chic patterned dress

Anna Wintour showcased her fashion prowess in an eye-catching white and blue patterned dress when stepping out in Los Angeles.

The British-American Vogue editor, 70, appeared effortlessly chic in the statement frock while sporting a simple mask and her trademark sunglasses.

The high fashion mogul looked impeccable as ever as she walked alongside a friend in the Southern California city.

Her appearance comes after Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles called out Anna’s magazine for not hiring enough black photographers for cover shoots.

Taking to Instagram earlier this month, the 66-year-old praised Anna’s counterpart Edward Enninful, the editor-in-chief of British Vogue, for his latest issue, which stars black activists on the cover, in an image shot by black photographer Misan Harriman.

Taking to the streets of LA yesterday, Anna, who has been at the helm of US Vogue for 30 years, added to her vibrant look with a pair of bright yellow heels.

The fashion mogul, who is rarely seen without her signature Chanel spectacles, also sported her trademark bob.

Letting her statement dress do all the talking, she went without any accessories and kept her mobile phone in her hand.

Her appearance follows Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles calling out US Vogue for not hiring enough black photographers for cover shoots.

The 66-year-old businesswoman took to Instagram earlier this month to applaud Edward Enninful, the editor-in-chief of British Vogue, for his latest issue, which stars black activists on the cover, in an image shot by black photographer Misan Harriman.

But she also took the opportunity to call out American Vogue, accusing the magazine of not doing enough to spotlight black talent.

‘Kudos to this wonderful man Mr. Edward Enninful! Editor of British Vogue for boldly putting our beautiful activists on the cover!’ she wrote, captioning a photo of Enninful.

‘When will American Vogue step up and hire more black photographers for cover shoots? We’re waiting…’

Tina shared two other Instagram posts about the new issue, including the cover with soccer player Marcus Rashard and model Adwoa Aboah and another version with American activist Tamika Mallory.

‘Yesssss!!!!! Congratulations Tamika and congratulations British Vogue!!!!! … for Putting this beautiful bold modern day freedom fighter on the cover of your magazine,’ she wrote.

‘And all of the other beautiful sisters out here fighting for our rights and our justice!!! Tamika is a gift to us, as she fights fearlessly every day in the trenches getting arrested, giving those who don’t have a voice a big voice! Let’s support her in anyway we can.’

The images were shot by Misan Harriman, the first black male photographer to shoot a cover of British Vogue since the magazine launched 104 years ago.

It took until 2018 for US Vogue to hire a black photographer to capture its cover, after Beyoncé hand-picked Tyler Mitchell to shoot her for the September issue.

A spokesperson for Vogue’s parent company Conde Nast, of which Anna is artistic director of, previously told the Mail On Sunday: ‘Conde Nast and Vogue is committed to self-examination and improvement around inclusion and anti-racism.

‘Anna Wintour, as both editor-in-chief of Vogue and artistic director of Condé Nast, has been a champion of diversity.

‘Since becoming artistic director in 2013, the majority of her editor-in-chief appointments have been people of colour.’
