Channel 10 has been forced to air shorter episodes of The Bachelor this season after on-site production was suspended from March until July due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The network was left with a dearth of footage as a result of the lengthy filming break, and viewers are starting to notice the lack of content.
The episodes are much briefer than last year’s, and producers are also trying to string along the drama by using cliffhanger endings.

During Thursday night’s episode, the cocktail party was filled with drama, but viewers were confused when the rose ceremony didn’t air.
Several of the contestants had hinted on Instagram earlier in the day that a rose ceremony would be taking place.
They shared promotional photos and captions about wanting to receive a rose from leading man Locky Gilbert.
This suggests that Channel 10 forgot to tell the women that the episode had been re-edited to finish on a cliffhanger.

After the episode ended with a rose ceremony, one angry fan tweeted: ‘Is this going to be how #TheBachelorAU is going to be all season?
‘One rose ceremony a week and an entire episode dedicated to a cocktail party? I don’t like it? Would rather just see dates?’
Another wrote: ‘I 0/10 agree with this new format they’ve got going on. Give us the cocktail party and rose ceremony on the Thursday episode my dudes.’
A third critic tweeted: ‘Hey Bachy peeps. Speaking for myself here, but not a fan of the “next time” without a freaking rose ceremony. Can we get back to the old format?’

A similar tweet read: ‘I get the need to spread out the season because of COVID etc, but making us wait six days to continue a rose ceremony is straight up rude.’
