Dave Hughes reveals who wanted to replace Lindsay Lohan on The Masked Singer

Dave Hughes reveals the Channel 10 star who desperately wanted to replace Lindsay Lohan on The Masked Singer… only to be brutally rejected

Lindsay Lohan was forced to step down from The Masked Singer judging panel last month due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

And on Monday, her co-star Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes revealed that his radio colleague Ed Kavalee, 41, had desperately wanted Lindsay’s job as a judge on the singing show.

‘He did [want the job] and I quickly swatted it down. I said, “You’ve got enough screen time, mate. Just back off,”‘ Dave, 49, told News.com.au.

Who is it? Dave Hughes has revealed the identity of a Channel 10 star who desperately wanted to replace Lindsay Lohan on The Masked Singer – only to be brutally rejected

‘There were certainly mates left, right and centre trying to muscle in. Everyone wants to be on the show. It’s the show to be on,’ he added.

Last month, Lindsay was forced to quit The Masked Singer due to border closures – but her position didn’t remain vacant for long.

New Zealand comedian Urzila Carlson was soon confirmed as her replacement.

The 44-year-old completed her mandatory two-week isolation in Sydney on June 30, before she flew to Melbourne to begin filming.

On Tuesday, the network released its latest trailer for the zany show, in which Dave jokes about the benefits of the pandemic.

‘Everyone is stuck here in this country so it’s more likely to be big stars this year!’ the funnyman says.

The line-up of costumed performers is rumoured to include Dami Im, Tommy Little, Madeleine West and Shane Warne.

Last year’s season was a surprise ratings hit for Channel 10, and the network will no doubt be hoping for similar success this year.
