Killing Eve season 4 postponed ‘without a clear return date’ as COVID-19 pandemic renders it impossible to film the drama with its ‘jigsaw of European locations’
The fourth season of Killing Eve has been postponed as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic and the travel restrictions it has imposed on the world.
It’s understood that producers hoped to begin filming in August, little more than two months after season three’s finale teased fans with an ambiguous cliff-hanger on London’s Tower Bridge.
However, original plans to push ahead with a new series – which, like its predecessors features an array of locations around Europe – have reportedly been scuppered due to the current health crisis.

According to Deadline there is no ‘clear return date’ either.
The publication reports that the show’s production company, Sid Gentle Films, has now ‘abandoned their plans and is yet to set a restart date for later this year’ due to Killing Eve’s ‘jigsaw of European location shoots’.
To date, the drama has been shot in the likes of Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bucharest and Tuscany.

There’s added complication due to the fact titular star Sandra will first need to fly to the UK from the US, to join Jodie and the rest of the cast, before embarking on further travel further afield.
A spokesman for the show told Deadline: ‘Killing Eve shoots across multiple European locations.
‘Due to the uncertainty of the world as a result of COVID-19, no shooting schedules for Killing Eve season four have been locked in at this point and there are various scenarios in play.’
Killing Eve ordinarily shoots in the summer through to the end of autumn and returns to screens in the spring. But, like many TV and movie productions around the world, it will likely face a significant broadcast delay.

COVID-19 has thrown much of the entertainment world into disarray – including shows and film that do not involve international travel.
The UK’s soaps were all shut down in March and have only recently resumed production with social distancing in place on set.
Hollywood ground to a halt with Jurassic World: Dominion being the first blockbuster to get back to work at England’s Pinewood Studios earlier this month.
And numerous premiere dates for films already in the can have been affected due to the shut down of cinemas.
The likes of James Bond film No Time To Die and horror sequel A Quiet Place Part 2 had to be stalled from hitting movie theatres this spring, and are set to hopefully debut later in 2020.
