Horrified Tesco customer eats nearly ALL her £3.75 chicken tray bake only find dead MOUSE buried in the sauce – leaving her ‘vomiting for 12 hours’

A Tesco shopper said she was left ‘vomiting for 12 hours’ after she allegedly discovered a dead mouse in her ready meal. 

Cath McCall Smith, from Durham, said she was unwell after apparently finding a dead rodent in a £3.75 chicken tray bake from Tesco.

The 57-year-old said she initially thought she had hit a piece of bone, but was instead left horrified when looked down and spotted the mouse.

Revolting pictures show the vermin lying face up in the remnants of her Italian Inspired Chicken meal. 

Ms McCall Smith said: ‘I thought I had hit a bit of bone.

‘I moved the chicken around and was horrified when I saw it.

‘I’ve been sick for 12 hours. I’m still a bit unwell.’

Tesco said a full investigation is being carried out into the incident.

Ms McCall Smith posted the pictures on the retailer’s Facebook page with the caption: ‘Please do not buy any ready meals from Tesco.

‘What I found in mine has had me vomiting for 12 hours.’ 

Explaining what they showed, she stated it was: ‘A mouse in my ready meal.’

After seeing the gory images, social media users cracked jokes about the situation.

One user said: ‘Well it does say ‘Italian Inspired’ and the Romans considered dormouse to be a delicacy.’

Another person jokingly commented ‘poor Ratatouille’, in reference to the Disney film about a rat who learns to cook.

On Wednesday, Tesco said they were still investigating the incident. 

A spokesman for Tesco said: ‘We take all customer complaints very seriously and are carrying out a full investigation into what happened here.’
