Euphoria star Jacob Elordi reveals his relief at leaving the US before the COVID-19 pandemic escalated

Euphoria star Jacob Elordi should be in Los Angeles filming season two of the HBO series.

But the 23-year-old actor has been at home in Australia, since February.

He spoke of his relief of leaving the US just before the COVID-19 pandemic reached crisis point in this month’s issue of GQ Australia.

Jacob said: ‘The last place on Earth I want to be when s**t gets weird is America, so I booked a ticket and dipped out.’

He added that the escalating scale of the pandemic was enough to stop production, which prompted him to decide to head back home.    

While at home for the past few months, he revealed he has been working on a screenplay, set in Australia, and currently on his second draft.

‘I’ll sit for a couple of hours and write and do rewrites, and then I’ll read and then I have a little area where I can paint. It’s been really good to just have time to get back to the basics of what I like to do.’

He said of his project: ‘There’s no rules to it and I don’t have a deadline, so it’s fun to just throw s**t at the wall and see what sticks.’

But he downplayed the romance speculations to GQ Australia last year, saying: ‘She’s like my sister’.

Jacob also stars in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth and its sequel, The Kissing Booth 2, which will be available to stream on July 24.
