Ricky’s rant began after a follower asked him what beer he was drinking during his live stream, leading Ricky to give a call out to BrewDog.

He called on BrewDog to send something to ‘nurses or charity workers’ before going on to suggest the fees for endorsed tweets should be sent direct to charity.

‘I get these offers to do endorsed tweets. And I had heard about it. I know the Kardashian’s get something like £20,000 for one post.

‘They could just be sitting on a bench while holding a chocolate bar, and I have also been offered that sort of thing.’

Ricky labelled the promotional collaborations ’embarrasing,’ insisting ‘I want myself to be real. I don’t mind doing an advert when everyone knows I got paid to do an advert.’

The star then had a brain wave as he suggested: ‘Anyway, I have always said no. But maybe I should just ask companies to donate the money that I would be making straight to charity.

‘Why don’t we all just be honest from now on?’ he added.

BrewDog went on to repost the clip on their Twitter account, commenting: ‘We didn’t have to pay for this publicity so we donated money to these charities instead @Nowzad @AllDogsMatter @AnimalsAsia@Paws2RescueUK Cheers @rickygervais.’
