New promo for The Voice shows the shocking changes coming to set following the COVID-19 outbreak

The global coronavirus pandemic has been throwing production of local TV shows into chaos.

And a new promo released by Channel Nine on Thursday shows how the health crisis will affect family program The Voice.

The footage shows shocking changes coming to the set of the singing competition, with international pop stars Boy George and Kelly Rowland appearing via videolink.

The show must go on! On Thursday, Channel Nine released a new promo for The Voice to Instagram which shows the program continuing with international judges Boy George and Kelly Rowland appearing via video link (Pictured left to right, Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrem, Boy George and Kelly Rowland)

‘How bizarre is this! I’m global distancing,’ Boy George jokes from a screen in the studio.

The network was forced to halt production of the program due to social distancing requirements in March, just before they commenced the play-off rounds.

Boy George and Kelly returned to their homes in London and LA respectively.

Since then they have been forced to film new episodes of the series remotely due to COVID-19 travel restrictions preventing them from entering Australia.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported last month the pair have started mentoring artists via FaceTime and a real-time satellite feed will be used for judging upcoming live performances.

It is understood several contestants may also appear remotely, but it is not yet known who.

As they begin to process the news, Big Brother drops another bombshell: ‘The Big Brother house will be placed in lockdown and the game will be suspended.’

‘Oh my god…’ housemate Kieran Davidson says, as his co-stars look shell-shocked.

Elsewhere in the trailer, cameras are shown being pulled from their hiding places as the contestants wander around the garden aimlessly.

Mat Garrick leans over one camera and asks: ‘Is anyone operating this?’

This seems to suggest the crew was forced to make a quick exit amid the COVID-19 scare, leaving the housemates alone in the compound.

‘For the first time ever, Big Brother is in lockdown,’ host Sonia Kruger says, ending the trailer on a chilling note.
