A bride-to-be put her ex-fiance’s wedding ring up for sale on Facebook – after accusing him of being a love rat.

Heartbroken Zoe Butt, of Sandown, Isle of Wight, dumped Paul Botwright after he allegedly had a four-year affair.

The 26-year-old posted an advert for the Sterling Silver band which has now gone viral after being liked more than a thousand times.

She posted: ‘Good condition, couple of scratches but still looks smart. Only thing wrong with it is it might be tainted by the lying, cheating male who it was worn by.’

The couple had been together since May 2015. She proposed to Paul, 40, on a leap year and he had worn the ring – in the style of a wedding ring – as an engagement ring.

Zoe, a chef, told FEMAIL: ‘That ring was an engagement ring but luckily we didn’t get married.

‘I proposed to him on leap year. He said he wanted to propose to me. But he wore his ring because he was proud to be with me and wanted people to know.’

She claimed: ‘We got together in May 2015 but he was having an affair with someone that was married when it started.

‘He had a four year plus affair and double life. My family found out first.

‘This started before we met and then carried on when he got in a relationship with me. But [I] finally got rid of him completely last month.’

Zoe posted it on the Facebuy for the Isle of Wight group on the social network, but hasn’t found anyone who wants to purchase it yet.

She joked: ‘I just wanted to get rid of it, I was genuinely trying to sell that ring. But no one wants it because of how I posted it.

‘I have no idea what people would pay for it. I just wanted it gone.’

Amanda Leigh commented on the post: ‘I laughed too much at this,’ while Paula Clough added: ‘Oh dear, made me chuckle.’

Pal Beverley Farmer said: ‘Oh Zoe Butt! You have made my year beautiful.’

Zoe replied: ‘I think Mum and Dad might tell me off. Whoops, I am definitely my dad’s daughter.’

Beverley responded: ‘You are an inspiration. My famous friend! Definitely raising a glass to you when we meet up after COVID.’

Paul declined to comment.
