Mike was an integral part of Big Brother; he narrated the program, hosted his own spin-off series, Up Late, and assisted with live evictions.
But while the show laid dormant for six years, Mike has been as busy as ever with other pursuits in the industry.
As a familiar voice on Big Brother, Mike has capitalised off voice-overs as his main source of income.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Mike said: ‘I’ve never considered leaving the entertainment industry. Mum and Dad were both in the industry and school wasn’t my thing so this was always where I would be landing.’
He is the son of late television and radio personality Grant Goldman and Channel Seven weather girl and Miss Australian Beach Girl Erica Hammond.

‘When the pandemic hit work went really quiet’: Mike added he found new ways of creating work for himself during coronavirus, including making personalised messages for fans on Cameo impersonating Tiger King’s Joe Exotic
Mike also said he’s returned to acting in recent years.
‘I had a little part in The Wilds for Amazon Prime and Wentworth at the start of the year. Blink and you’ll miss me. Later this year a spot on Clickbait for Netflix,’ he said.
Mike added he found new ways of creating work for himself during coronavirus: ‘When the pandemic hit work went really quiet, I started doing birthday messages as Joe Exotic on the celebrity app Cameo. I’m not joking.’

The star has his own podcast series, Mike On The Mike, a live-streaming company called Everything Live, and in 2015 he launched the Sanctuary Film Festival with the support of Screen Queensland.
Mike said he was shocked Big Brother was axed in 2014, but was never once concerned about his career.
‘Big Brother was only ever three months of the year. It was never my main thing. But it was by far the most fun,’ he said.

With Seven rebooting Big Brother this year, Mike now has delighted fans with his own recap series: The Big Bro Show.
‘The show is the greatest Big Brother show that’s not a Big Brother show,’ he joked, adding: ‘when we hit over a gazillion views on our episodes, I was so stoked.’
