Congratulations! Today show reporter announces she’s PREGNANT live on air – leaving host Karl Stefanovic shocked
Karl Stefanovic was left stunned on Wednesday when one of his Today show colleagues announced she was pregnant live on air.
He was blindsided when journalist Jess Millward, who was reporting from a theme park on the Gold Coast, rubbed her belly and revealed she was expecting a child.
Jess, who married husband Joel Dry in February 2018, told Karl and co-host Allison Langdon she wanted to go on a ride but couldn’t because of her ‘condition’.

‘I’m a thrill seeker from way back, a real bada** if you can say that on TV,’ Jess began.
‘I was all ready to go on the rides yesterday, super excited, cameraman ready to go, and then I remembered I have a certain condition at the moment, so I can’t really,’ she added.
Karl, 45, then asked her about her ‘condition’, saying he had no idea what she was talking about.

Allison reminded Karl that he did know, and that it was a ‘good condition’.
Jess, 30, then teased her announcement by saying she was banned from going on rides for the ‘next five months’.
‘She’s having a baby!’ Allison said, confirming the happy news for viewers.

‘Congratulations, Jess. Oh my goodness!’ Karl said.
Allison then joked that her co-anchor had been ‘under a rock’ the past few weeks.
‘I had a bit of time off, not under a rock… That is fantastic. No wonder she can’t go on that ride!’ he replied.

Meanwhile, it’s been a busy few months for Karl, who welcomed a daughter named Harper in early May with his wife, Jasmine Yarbrough.
He took a week off work and returned on May 11, saying he was ‘struggling a bit’ having come back so soon.
‘Everything hurts. I’m tired. Emotional,’ he said at the time.
