Miranda Hart, 47,  admits she’s ready to find Mr Right

‘It would be lovely to find my partner in crime’: Miranda Hart, 47, admits she’s ready to find Mr Right as she reflects on single life in lockdown

Miranda Hart may have written a happy ending for her eponymous TV character but she admits she’s yet to find ‘Mr Hart’ in real life.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine the writer and comedian, 47, says she’d love to find a partner after previously describing herself as ‘predominantly single’.

‘Mr Right, or the future Mr Hart, hasn’t occurred in my life yet,’ she explains.

‘But it would be lovely to find my partner in crime,’ she adds as she reflects on life on lockdown with her pet dog Peggy for company.

Speaking about her time quarantining during the coronavirus pandemic, Miranda jokes: ‘I think I’ll come out of this as a Zen monk.’

The star has been busy doing her bit during lockdown, increasing her fees on a celebrity video message website to help raise funds for chronic illness charities ASTRiiD and CISFA UK.

Miranda received some backlash for hiking her prices from £80 to £166 for a personalised message to a fan on website Cameo, but as she explains the increase is down to timing.

The star says: ‘I increased the price because I am donating revenue to two charities that support chronic illness (ASTRiiD and CISFA UK) during lockdown as it is a great time to raise awareness for those who experience ‘lockdown’ as part of their daily lives and because there are vulnerable people during pandemic.

‘With Cameo you can vary your prices at different times to suit how you want to use it so I can see for a week whether raising the price means I make more money to help others, or whether it’s best to reduce it.’

As well as doing her bit via Cameo, Miranda also took part in BBC’s Big Bight In back in April, reuniting with her former co-stars for a special sketch during the fundraiser.

The comedian was joined by Tom Ellis, Sarah Hadland, Patritcia Hodge and Sally Phillips, who starred alongside her on the show.

Miranda, who was playing her titular character, told viewers lockdown suits her, with flashbacks showing scenes from the sitcom which prove she’s best left indoors.

This included walking in on her parents ‘naughty knitting evening’, and entertaining herself in a variety of unique ways while around the house.

During the skit, Miranda was caught short as she spoke to a mop with Gary’s [Tom] face on it, and told him she knew that she was beautiful.
