Is The Inbetweeners next? Mystery as hugely popular sitcom takes down all episodes from its YouTube channel amid claims ‘offensive’ content sparked complaints

The Inbetweeners is feared to have been axed from YouTube as its channel has had all episodes taken down amid claims its ‘offensive’ content sparked compaints.
The comedy starring Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison has vanished from the website.
It tracks the sixth-form experiences of four awkward teenagers and is known for its explicit jokes, particularly on the part of serial sexual bragger Jay, played by Buckley.
Despite being hugely successful, the show had every piece of media on its YouTube channel removed.

Social media users are speculating that it was taken down for its juvenile shock humour, with episodes including a frisbee hitting a disabled woman in the head and Bird’s character Will abusing schoolmate Neil’s dad for being a homosexual, which he is not.
It comes after Little Britain vanished from BBC iPlayer due to David Walliams playing a morbidly obese black woman in a sketch and painting his skin for the role. Walliams’ and Matt Lucas’ Come Fly With Me was taken down for the same reason.
The Inbetweeners channel had more than 222,000 subscribers before its content was removed.
One fan tweeted: ‘The Inbetweeners is one of the funniest shows ever made. The humour is funny because it’s offensive. This generation would rather be angry than laugh & it shows.’
But others are tweeting that the show’s content was actually taken down due to copyright reasons, as it migrated to Britbox in April.

The Channel 4 comedy follows the lives of four teenagers and their clumsy interactions with women, alcohol and education.
Its humour is usually found in the fallout that occurs when one of its central characters says or does something that is offensive and the protagonists are often the victims of their own stupidity.
A spokesperson for Google says that it was not YouTube that removed the content from The Inbetweeners.
