Bill and Ted face themselves in the first trailer for their long-awaited third adventure,  Bill & Ted Face the Music.

The 81 second long teaser for the forthcoming sci-fi comedy dropped Tuesday, 29 years after the trilogy’s previous installment.

In the trailer, Ted (Keanu Reeves) and Bill (Alex Winter) travel to the future, in which they meet their musclebound and tattooed future selves.

The film’s plot centers around the duo having to live up to their as-yet-unfulfilled potential as the world’s unlikely saviors. 

The trailer begins with The Great Leader (played by Holland Taylor) admonishing the pair for having once played a concert for ‘the entire world’ but since underwhelming with their attempts to unite Earth through music.

‘One month ago, you played in Barstow, California for forty people, most of whom were there for two dollar Taco Night.’

However the council are apparently unmoved by their words

And thus the pair set off on another adventure, to live up to their long-expected promise as rock redeemers to a world in conflict.

‘How is that stealing, if we’re stealing it from ourselves, dude?’ rationalizes Bill. 

The duo then travel through time, using the series’ iconic phone booth-shaped time machine.
